    About the Product

Njaval White plant  refers to the White Jamun tree, a rare variety of the common Njaval / Jamun / Java Plum (Syzygium cumini).

While the usual Njaval fruit is deep purple-black, the White Njaval variety produces whitish to pale pink fruits. It’s less common and considered special in Kerala home gardens.

     General Information

    • Scientific name: Syzygium cumini (white-fruited variety)

    • Common names: White Njaval, White Jamun, White Java Plum, White Indian Blackberry

    • Family: Myrtaceae (guava family)

    • Type: Evergreen tropical fruit tree

    • Height: 20–50 ft (can be pruned smaller in gardens)

    • Leaves: Shiny, leathery green, aromatic when crushed

    • Flowers: Small, creamy-white, fragrant clusters

     Fruit Characteristics

    • Appearance: Oval/oblong like normal Jamun but pale whitish-green to pinkish when ripe

    • Taste: Sweeter and less astringent than the black jamun

    • Seeds: Single large seed inside

    • Nutritional Value: Rich in vitamin C, iron, antioxidants, but with less anthocyanin (the pigment that makes normal jamun purple)

     Growing Conditions

    • Sun Light: Full sun needed for good growth and fruiting

    • Soil: Prefers well-draining sandy loam, but adaptable to various soils

    • Water: Regular watering while young; drought-tolerant once established

    Care & Maintenance

    • Fertilizer: Apply organic compost yearly; use NPK fertilizer during fruiting season

    • Pruning: Can be pruned to keep at manageable size for home gardens

    • Pests/Diseases: Hardy, but may attract fruit flies and birds

    Uses

    • Fresh fruit: Sweet and refreshing

    • Medicinal: Traditional uses similar to black jamun — digestion, diabetes management, cooling effect

    • Ornamental: Rare tree, adds uniqueness to gardens

     Special Note

The White Njaval is rare — most nurseries sell grafted plants to ensure the true variety.
