    About the Product

Philodendron is one of the most popular indoor and tropical ornamental plants, famous for its lush green foliage and easy adaptability

    Profile of Philodendron

    • Botanical Name: Philodendron spp. (over 450 species)

    • Family: Araceae (Arum family, like Monstera & Peace Lily)

    • Common Names: Philodendron, Heartleaf Philodendron, Split-leaf Philodendron (depending on species)

    Appearance & Types

Philodendrons are usually grouped into two types:

    1. Climbing Philodendrons (vining)

      • Example: Philodendron hederaceum (Heartleaf Philodendron)

      • Grows with long trailing stems; great for hanging baskets or moss poles.

    2. Non-climbing Philodendrons (self-heading)

      • Example: Philodendron bipinnatifidum (Lacy Tree Philodendron)

      • Grows upright with large split leaves, forming a shrub-like appearance.

    Leaves:

    • Large, glossy, and often heart-shaped or deeply lobed.

    • Colors range from deep green to variegated white, cream, or pink in some cultivars.

     Flowers

    • Rarely seen indoors.

    • Like other aroids, they produce a spadix with a spathe (similar to Peace Lilies).

    Fertilizer

    • Balanced houseplant fertilizer: 10:10:10 or 20:20:20 NPK.

    • Leafy growth booster: Fertilizers slightly higher in Nitrogen (N) (e.g., 3:1:2 ratio) encourage large, lush leaves.

    • Organic options: Diluted compost tea, seaweed extract, fish emulsion, or vermicompost liquid.

    Care & Growing Needs

    • Sun Light: Bright, indirect light (tolerates low light, but grows slower).

    • Water: Keep soil lightly moist; let the top 2–3 cm dry before watering.

    • Soil: Well-draining potting mix rich in organic matter.

     Uses & Benefits

    • Ornamental: Adds lush tropical greenery to homes, offices, and gardens.

    • Air Purification: Some species help filter toxins (like formaldehyde) from indoor air.

    • Symbolism: Often considered a plant of abundance and vitality in interior design (Feng Shui).
