     Appearance

    • Tree: Large evergreen, grows 10–20 m tall, with dense foliage.

    • Leaves: Glossy, leathery, lance-shaped, aromatic when crushed.

    • Flowers: Small, fragrant, greenish-white flowers in clusters.

    • Fruits:

      • Oval or oblong berries that ripen from green → pink → deep purple-black.

      • Flesh is juicy, purple to whitish, with a sweet-tart, slightly astringent taste.

      • Fruits stain tongue purple when eaten!
