    Plant Details

    • Botanical Name: Justicia brasiliana (syn. Libonia floribunda, sometimes sold as Justicia floribunda)

    • Common Names: Brazilian Plume, Flamingo Plant, Jacobinia, Brazilian Fuchsia

    • Origin: Native to Brazil and South America

     Appearance

    • Height: 60–120 cm (can be maintained as a compact bush).

    • Leaves: Oval, dark green, opposite arrangement, sometimes with reddish tinge on new growth.

    • Flowers:

      • Small, tubular, red to pink flowers.

      • Arranged in showy clusters that look plume-like.

      • Blooming period:  flowers appear most of the year.
