About the Product

Plant Overview

  • Botanical Name: Zamioculcas zamiifolia

  • Common Names: ZZ Plant, Zanzibar Gem, Eternity Plant

  • Type: Tropical perennial, ornamental indoor plant

  • Appearance: Glossy, dark green, oval-shaped leaves that grow in symmetrical rows on thick, upright stems. Rhizomes (potato-like roots) store water.

 Care Guide

1. Sun Light

  • Tolerates low light (great for offices and indoor spaces).

  • Thrives in bright, indirect light.

  • Avoid direct harsh sun (can scorch leaves).

2. Watering

  • Low water needs – drought-tolerant due to rhizomes.

  • Water only when the top 2–3 inches of soil are dry.

  • Overwatering = root rot (most common issue).

3. Soil

  • Use well-draining potting mix.

  • Best mix: cactus/succulent mix or potting soil + perlite/sand.

4. Fertilizer

  • Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2–3 months in spring and summer.

  • Minimal feeding needed in winter.

5. Pruning & Repotting

  • Prune yellow/damaged leaves at base.

  • Repot every 2–3 years or when roots/rhizomes outgrow the pot.

 Flowers

  • Rare indoors.

  • Can produce small, white-to-yellow spathe and spadix flowers near the base.

Uses & Benefits

  1. Air Purification – Removes toxins like xylene, benzene, and toluene.

  2. Low Maintenance – Ideal for beginners and office spaces.

  3. Drought-Tolerant – Survives long periods without water.

  4. Ornamental Value – Glossy green foliage adds elegance indoors.

  5. Feng Shui – Considered to bring prosperity and positive energy.

Note:

  • Toxic to pets and humans if ingested (contains calcium oxalate).
