    About the Product

    Plant Details

    • Botanical Name: Evolvulus glomeratus

    • Common Names: Blue Daze, Dwarf Morning Glory, Brazilian Dwarf Morning Glory

    • Family: Convolvulaceae (Morning Glory family)

    • Origin: Brazil, South America

    • Type: Perennial groundcover (in warm climates), often grown as an annual in cooler regions

     Appearance

    • Height & Spread: Low-growing, spreading shrub, about 20–30 cm tall and 60–90 cm wide.

    • Leaves: Small, gray-green, fuzzy, oval-shaped leaves.

    • Flowers:

      • Brilliant sky-blue blooms with yellowish-white centers.

      • About 2–3 cm wide.

      • Flowers open in the morning and usually close by afternoon or on cloudy days.

    • Growth Habit: Trailing, spreading, and dense, ideal for groundcover or hanging baskets.

     Care Guide

    Sun Light

    • Requires full sun (6–8 hours daily) for best flowering.

    • In too much shade, flowering reduces drastically.

     Soil

    • Well-drained sandy or loamy soil.

    • Prefers slightly acidic to neutral pH.

     Watering

    • Moderate water needs.

    • Water regularly but let the topsoil dry between watering.

    • Drought-tolerant once established but not tolerant of soggy soil.

     Fertilizer

    • Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer every 3–4 weeks during the growing/flowering season.

    • Avoid over-fertilizing (too much nitrogen = more leaves, fewer flowers).

     Pruning

    • Pinch or trim back stems to encourage bushier growth and more blooms.

    • Remove spent flowers and leggy growth.

     Uses & Benefits

    1. Ornamental Value:

      • Popular as a groundcover, edging plant, or in rock gardens.

      • Excellent in hanging baskets, containers, and window boxes.

    2. Low Maintenance:

      • Hardy and drought-tolerant, suitable for low-care landscapes.

    3. Pollinator Attraction:

      • Blue blooms attract bees and butterflies.

    4. Erosion Control:

      • Spreading roots help cover soil and reduce erosion in sunny slopes.

    5. Color Accent:

      • Provides a continuous splash of blue flowers in hot, sunny gardens where few other plants bloom so well.
