    About the Product

    Plant Overview

    • Botanical Name: Strelitzia reginae (most common type)

    • Common Names: Bird of Paradise, Crane Flower

    • Type: Evergreen perennial ornamental

    • Appearance: Large, banana-like glossy green leaves; striking orange-and-blue flowers that resemble a tropical bird in flight.

    Care Guide

    1. Sun Light

    • Thrives in bright, direct sunlight (at least 4–6 hours daily).

    • Indoors: Place near a south or west-facing window.

    • Outdoors: Prefers full sun to partial shade.

    2. Watering

    • Water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry.

    • Keep soil moist during growing season (spring–summer), but not soggy.

    • In winter, reduce watering slightly.

    3. Soil

    • Rich, well-draining soil.

    • A mix of garden soil + compost + perlite/sand works well.

    4. Fertilizer

    • Feed every 2–3 weeks during growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer (NPK 10:10:10 or similar).

    • Stop fertilizing in winter.

    5. Pruning

    • Remove old, damaged, or yellowing leaves at the base.

    • Cut faded flowers to encourage more blooms.

    6. Repotting

    • Repot every 2–3 years or when root-bound.

    • Bird of Paradise flowers better when slightly root-bound.

     Flowers

    • Flowers appear in spring and summer.

    • Unique orange and blue blooms shaped like a bird’s beak and plumage.

    • Mature plants (3–5 years old) produce more blooms.
