    Plant Overview

    • Botanical Name: Syzygium aromaticum

    • Family: Myrtaceae

    • Type: Evergreen tropical tree

    • Origin: Maluku Islands (Indonesia), now cultivated in India, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Zanzibar, etc.

    • Height: Can grow 8–12 meters tall in favorable conditions.

    • Parts Used: Dried flower buds → cloves (spice)

     Description

    • Leaves: Opposite, shiny, and aromatic.

    • Flower buds: Pinkish when fresh → harvested and sun-dried → dark brown “cloves.”

    • Flowers: Clusters of red/pink buds that open into small white flowers.

    • Bark: Greyish with aromatic oils.

    1.Sun Light

    • Needs full sun to partial shade.

    • Outdoor growth requires tropical/subtropical climate.

    2. Watering

    • Requires regular watering, especially when young.

    • Soil should stay moist but well-drained.

    • Mature trees tolerate short dry periods.

    3. Soil

    • Grows best in fertile, well-drained loamy soil, rich in organic matter.
