What is DAP Fertilizer?

• Full form: Diammonium Phosphate

• Chemical formula: (NH₄)₂HPO₄

• Nutrient content:

  • 18% Nitrogen (N) – for leafy, vegetative growth

  • 46% Phosphorus (P₂O₅) – for root development, flowering, and fruiting

It is one of the most widely used fertilizers in agriculture.

 How to Use DAP Fertilizer

  For Fruit & Plantation Crops

• Young plants: 50–100 g per plant (mixed into soil around root zone).

• Mature trees: 250–500 g per plant, split into 2–3 doses (spring, summer, after harvest).

 For Home Gardening & Pots

• Use 1 teaspoon (5–10 g) per medium pot once every 30–45 days.

• Always mix into soil and water immediately after application.

 Precautions

• Do not overuse → excess phosphorus can block micronutrients (zinc, iron).

• Avoid direct contact with seeds or roots (can cause burning).

• Best used as a basal fertilizer (early stage), not for regular top-dressing.

• Supplement with Potassium (K) and micronutrients for balanced growth.
