Description:

• Growth Habit: Trailing or creeping, often grown in hanging baskets.

• Leaves: Glossy, green, lance-shaped, slightly succulent.

• Flowers: Tubular, elongated, usually red or orange, sometimes with a hint of yellow, which resemble a lipstick—hence the common name.

• Height/Spread: Can trail 30–60 cm or more depending on pot and environment.

Care Requirements:

1. Sun Light:

• Bright, indirect sunlight is ideal.

• Avoid harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

2. Watering:

• Keep the soil evenly moist, but not waterlogged.

• Water less in winter when the plant slows down.

3. Soil:

• Well-draining epiphytic mix, such as a mix of orchid bark, perlite, and peat.

• Can also grow in standard potting soil with good drainage, but slightly lighter mix is better.

4. Fertilizer:

• Feed every 2–4 weeks during the growing season (spring-summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength.

• Reduce feeding in fall and winter.

5. Pruning & Propagation:

• Trim back long stems to encourage bushier growth.

• Propagate via stem cuttings in water or moist soil.
