    About the Product

Plant Details – Elephant Ear Anthurium

    • Botanical Name: Anthurium crystallinum, Anthurium magnificum, or sometimes Anthurium veitchii (different species are called “Elephant Ear Anthuriums” depending on region).

    • Family: Araceae (same as Philodendron, Pothos, Peace Lily).

    • Origin: Central & South America rainforests.

    • Type: Evergreen perennial, ornamental foliage plant.

    • Appearance:

      • Huge, heart-shaped elephant-ear-like leaves.

      • Leaves often have velvety texture with striking white/silvery veins.

      • Flowers are typical Anthurium spadix + spathe, but foliage is the main attraction.

     Care Guide

    Sun Light

    • Prefers bright, indirect light.

    • Avoid harsh direct sun → can burn leaves.

    • Low light → slow growth and smaller leaves.

     Watering

    • Keep soil evenly moist, not soggy.

    • Water when top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry.

    • Likes high humidity → mist leaves or use a humidifier.

     Soil

    • Needs airy, well-draining mix: orchid bark + perlite + coco peat/peat moss.

    • Similar to aroid soil mixes for Philodendrons & Monsteras.

     Fertilizer

    • Feed every 2–4 weeks in spring–summer with a diluted balanced fertilizer.

    • High phosphorus fertilizer improves root & foliage health.

     Pruning

    • Remove old, yellow, or damaged leaves.

    • Clean dust from leaves to help with photosynthesis.

    Uses & Benefits

    • Ornamental Foliage: Grown for its large, showy leaves in homes and gardens.

    • Indoor Décor: Perfect as a statement plant in living rooms, offices, or conservatories.

    • Air Purifying: Like other Anthuriums, helps filter toxins (though less efficient than Peace Lily).

    • Collector’s Plant: Popular among rare-plant lovers for its velvety leaf texture and dramatic look.
