    • Type: Perennial woody climber / vine

    • Height & Spread: Can grow 20–30 feet with support

    • Leaves: Dark green, ovate, glossy

    • Flowers: Pendulous, bright yellow and maroon, tubular, highly ornamental

    • Growth Habit: Vigorous climber, ideal for trellises and pergolas

    Care Instructions

    1. Sunlight

    • Thrives in full sun to partial shade.

    • At least 4–6 hours of sunlight per day promotes healthy flowering.

    2. Watering

    • Keep soil evenly moist, especially during the growing season.

    • Reduce watering in winter.

    • Avoid waterlogging to prevent root rot.

    3. Soil

    • Prefers well-draining, fertile soil rich in organic matter.

    • A slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0–7.0) is ideal.

    4. Fertilizer

    • Type: Balanced NPK fertilizer (10:10:10) or organic fertilizers like compost, well-rotted manure, or fish emulsion.

    • Frequency:

      • Growing season (spring–summer): Every 4–6 weeks

      • Dormant season (fall–winter): Reduce or skip

    • Tip: Too much nitrogen encourages leaf growth at the expense of flowers.

    5. Pruning

    • Light pruning after flowering encourages bushier growth and more flowers.

    • Remove dead or weak stems to maintain plant health and shape.

    Uses

    1. Ornamental

    • Highly prized for its showy, pendulous flowers.

    • Ideal for pergolas, trellises, arbors, and balconies.

    2. Landscaping

    • Can be used as a vertical garden plant to cover walls, fences, or structures.

    • Creates a tropical, cascading floral display.

    3. Attracts Wildlife

    • Flowers attract birds, bees, and butterflies, supporting pollination and biodiversity.
