    Family- Verbenaceae family

Common Names: Common Lantana, Spanish Flag, Wild Sage,Aripoov

    Description:

    • Growth Habit: Upright, spreading shrub, can grow 1–3 meters in height.

    • Leaves: Rough, ovate, aromatic when crushed, opposite arrangement.

    • Flowers: Small, tubular flowers grouped in dense clusters called umbels. Flower colors often change as they mature, giving a multi-colored effect. Common colors include yellow, orange, pink, red, and purple.

    • Fruit: Small green berries that turn black when ripe; mildly toxic if ingested.

    Care Requirements:

    1.Sun Light:

    • Prefers full sun for maximum flowering.

    • Can tolerate partial shade but flowers less.

    2. Watering:

    • Drought-tolerant once established.

    • Water regularly in the first year; after that, occasional deep watering is sufficient. Avoid waterlogging.

    3. Soil:

    • Thrives in well-draining soil, tolerates poor soils.

    • Can grow in sandy or loamy soil; slightly acidic to neutral pH preferred.

    4. Fertilizer:

    • Light feeding with a balanced fertilizer promotes more flowers.

    • Over-fertilization may produce more foliage at the expense of flowers.

    5. Pruning & Propagation:

    • Prune to maintain shape and remove dead stems.

    • Propagates easily via stem cuttings or seeds.

    Uses:

    • Ornamental shrub in gardens, borders, and hedges.

    • Attracts pollinators like butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds.

    • Can be used in container gardening or hanging baskets for smaller varieties.

    Caution:

    • Lantana berries are toxic to humans and pets if ingested.
